This new venue attracted a slightly better attendance with five GAS juniors and welcome visiting addition from the PDAC ranks, in the shape of 12 year old Ollie Tupman.
With plenty of room for each junior it was hoped weights would come good, despite the advent of very cold weather. There was a marked improvement with carp putting in an appearance for nearly everyone! End pegs looked to be good, but it was the higher end peg, which saw the greatest increase in weights. Drawn on peg 6 towards the top lake was Ethan Etherington, who showed his class by banking over 11 carp for a superb 53lb, caught mainly on method feeder with pellet.
Narrowing the league points gap, on leader Jess Carter, was Ben Gregoriades on peg 4, who managed 4 carp for 18lb+, taken mainly on method again. He now is only 1 point behind Jess, so the Christmas match will be something of a battle I suspect!
Third place saw Jess Carter, peg 3, take 12lb of mainly silvers to pole and maggot, although she did manage a carp of about 3lb to help bolster her overall weight. The Christmas match is now set up for a ding-dong battle between Jess and Ben!
Our thanks go to Petersfield Angling Club for the use of their superb lake in Nyewood and also to Andy Reed and Keith Tupman for their invaluable help in organising this round.
Next match is the Christmas match on Hill Pond, followed by the party and prize giving in the pavilion on December 15th
