Broadwater junior carp event
Added on July 24, 2023

The annual junior carp catch at Broadwater Lake on the 22nd July proved to be a soggy but productive event.  The evening started with the draw and pizza for all the competitors but the steady rain was not forecasted to stop till the small hours.

The match kicked off at 7 and pretty quickly James Webb peg 5 was into  a carp.  As the night and the rain wore on fish came out regularly with Cameron Eadie on peg 10 catching the most consistently.

The rain finally eased about 3 am but the fishing slowed too and come dawn only two anglers were still catching- Cameron and Callum Hattley on peg 13.

When the whistle blew at 7 am the final fish counts were tallied up.

In third place was James Webb with 15 carp and a biggest of 18lb 4.

In second was Callum Hatley - also with 15 fish but a biggest of 18lb 13oz.

The clear winner was Cameron Eadie with an impressive 20 carp

The biggest fish of the night was caught by Leighton Knight and tipped the scales at19lb 3oz.

Thanks to Rob Hackman for keeping the scores through the rain, the Broadwater bailiffs for helping organise the event and Gardner Tackle for their generous sponsorship oof this event.
