Warning: Busbridge lake currently has an outbreak of blue/green algae, avoid contact with the water as it may cause skin irritation and stomach upset.
The algae is toxic to humans and may be fatal to pets.
KHV (Koi Herpes Virus) is a fatal disease killing between 50% and 90% of Carp infected.
Three local waters have recently been confirmed as having an outbreak of the KHV infection:
The virus is spread mainly by wet landing nets, unhooking mats, weigh slings and towels etc.
New Busbridge bye-law effective from 6th July 2017
Pike fishing at Busbridge can only take place from 1st October to 14th March inclusive
This new bye-law was approved by the General Committee at the 5th July General Committee Meeting due to the recent pike deaths at Busbridge.
