GAS Teams of Four end of an era

Following the final round of the 2018 "Fours" it was decided to end this annual series as it has run its course. The final league was won by Matchangler.com with Pete Salmon top individual (See match results and League tables pages). The Fours were originally started as a local club alternative to the Winter leagues that had were fishing venues further away than most wanted to travel. It started with 10 teams using our larger club venues and local canals and over the years has averaged eight teams but the last couple it has been a struggle for teams to keep together over six matches especially this final year. As Match Secretary it has involve a lot of work with all the admin and pegging etc but it has been enjoyable and my team including Dave Lake Paul Etherington and Dave Carter even managed to win the series one year. I would like to thank all those who have helped over the years to make such a successful series.

We will be looking to try something different next season like Secret Pairs matches so look out for those.
